Merry Christmas, Happy New Year! But first..?

Well, this will likely be my last post of 2011. It's been a heck of a year- I rediscovered this old blog and managed to post 64 times in the past months. I completed my last fall semester at Virginia Tech with straight A's, and managed to be in several fantastic shows.

I don't have a list of all the wonderful things from this past year- I'm no good at that. I only have a f things I'd regret not mentioning in this last post.

First, I was truly blessed to be a member of the Vt Theatre Department this past year. Y'all have given me some of my best memories, whether they be hanging out at someone's apartment on a random night (any night works, really) or working on a show with you. You are all dedicated individuals, fun to be around, and I'm happy to know you. Let's go into this spring semester and make some good memories.

Secondly, my good friend and mentor Grant Mudge is retiring from his position as artistic director at Richmond Shakespeare, for various reasons. This man truly inspired me to join the theatre community, and pursue acting and directing. I wouldn't be in theatre without him, and my life would be fairly boring, at best. Break a leg, Grant. I, and Richmond Theatre, will miss you.

Third, and lastly (but certainly not least) I want to thank my family and girlfriend for their support to get me through this past year. I know I have my moments, and they're not always pretty, but you are always there for me and have been for a very long time. Thank you Mom, Dad, and Mary.

Now that I've managed to get past those light items... Here's your moment for today:

How Many Construction Workers Does It Take...

Hey everyone!

December really has been a slow month for me, posting-wise. I've been very busy!

My buddies Cody Oher and Dan Fissmer came into town to get on set for Lincoln, in Petersburg. Cody crashed on my couch and Fissmer crashed on my floor for a few nights - had fun showing them around Richmond. Went to see "A Christmas Carol for Two Actors" at Richmond Shakespeare and "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" at Sycamore Rouge. Two great shows!

Also, finally saw Contagion - great movie. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - Even better movie. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - Best movie. Honestly, best movie I've ever seen. Go see it folks.

And here it is - your tiny moment of hilarity:

The Secret to Success

Hey everyone! It's been a very long time since I last posted.

What's happened? Let's see:

I took the LSAT's again - hope to hear back soon about whether that expensive process payed off this time. Last time I did well, but I really want to improve.

I was cast in La Ronde, a show going up at Tech in February, as the Count. I think it's going to be a great show! Remember that other show I was in? "Almost, Maine"? La Ronde is like that, only German and sexy.

I also went to the ACC Championship with Mary - it was a good trip, despite the loss to Clemson. BUT VT IS SUGAR BOWL BOUND!

There was another tragedy at Virginia Tech. A shooter killed a police officer during a routine traffic stop, and then went on to take his own life. The officer was Officer Crouse. He leaves 5 children and a wife behind him. The shooter was a Radford student, who had committed armed robbery several hours before. Responses to the shooting have ranged from sympathetic to Virginia Tech students, to incredulity that this happened at Virginia Tech. All I have to say is: We are Hokie Strong, We are Hokie Proud. Virginia Tech is a family, and we stick together.

The following Sunday (the 11th of December) I turned 21! Happy Birthday to me!

After that? I wrote 3 papers, took two exams, and am now home! My buddy Cody Oher is staying the weekend because he's in Spielberg's Lincoln in Petersburg, so it's good to see him!

And without further ado, the secret to success: (a swift kick)
