Hey folks!
So, I've been stuck in a construction-zone house for about a week (due to an issue with our dishwasher malfunctioning, and then the bathroom, etc. It all spiraled out of control) so I haven't been able to post lately. However, one of the few rooms in my home that isn't under construction is the room with the TV.
Guess what I've had the (mis)fortune to see a lot this week? GLENN BECK, on Fox "News."
Now, I don't know what your particular political leaning may be, but frankly, that really doesn't come into play with Glenn Beck's show. His politics belongs the the party of Glenn - it doesn't really represent any particular party out there, despite what both Republicans and Democrats may say.
So I did some extra research on this man, hoping to find out what I could about his politics. Guess what I found? He's a wonderful spin-doctor, adding a personal (slightly psychotic) touch to every bit of 'news' or 'facts' he discusses. He masterfully doctors information, and when he is called out for falsehood, claims he is merely an 'entertainer,' which is meant to somehow let him off the hook (despite his claims of providing 'news'). If I want fake news entertainment, Glenn, I'll go to The Onion. (It's funny, more people believe The Onion's news than do believe Glenn Beck's!)
However, in my search, I did find this - which pretty much sums up Glenn Beck in a nutshell.

Slow Mo!
As an actor, I always like to film random things and post them on the internet. I also like to do weird stuff, as those of you who know me can attest to.
These guys combine filming and quirky fun in their slow-mo videos. I laughed so hard at this.

Zombies?
Today, I went on a nostalgia trip.
Last year, I participated in a show called "Project Z," produced by The Collaborative Company at VT. I was one of many talented writers, directors, and actors who came together to produce this show.
The show consisted of a bunch of short plays and short films. I visited the videos today - here are two. (I wrote and co-edited the Public Service announcements!)
Make sure you check out the rest!

Hipsters

I'm back in Richmond for the summer, as articulated in my last post.
You know what Richmond has? A bunch of hipsters. They wear ironic glasses, ironic clothes, drink PBR, and listen to music that you've probably never heard of. They're so "not mainstream" that they're mainstream, and that's IRONIC.
Now, I have nothing against hipsters. I think my girlfriend is one - my roommate from this past year (Jordan) was the ultimate hipster. He was so hipster that he claimed hipsters were too mainstream. I have a BUNCH of hipster friends, and that's cool.
But I need a way to figure out exactly what hipsters are saying sometimes - they don't always make much sense. So, I found this guide. Enjoy!

I Missed My Dog.
So, I've been away for a week due to the stress of finals and papers. However, after a drive that supposedly started at 5pm Friday, and didn't actually start until 10 pm, and then after getting home at 2am, and unloading my truck, I am FINALLY HOME FOR THE SUMMER.
I have been reunited with my parents, dog, and girlfriend.
But especially my dog. Pokey is one of the greatest animals ever. So cute. She's nearly deaf now, but I still love her.
This video reminded me of her - she actually acts like this!

Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You...
I was sitting at my desk in 5th grade when the World Trade Center towers in New York fell. I will never forget that day, I will never forget the wounds my country suffered, and I will never forget the name Osama bin Laden.
I sit at my desk now, nine and a half years later, as a junior in college. Osama bin Laden is now dead, and America lives on. The memories will always be there, but a measure of closure is now brought to the American people.
There are many who say that it is a shame that as a nation, we come together around death. To this I say: We are not celebrating death. We are celebrating a triumph over a symbolic terrorist threat.
And as my friend put it, "We do not gloat over the triumph over evil, because its very existence must forever be mourned."
Well done, America. The world is now a little bit safer.

500 Babies?!
Commercials these days are nuts - they always are looking to be the next big viral hit, and become super-awesome and seen by everyone on the internet. That's what works - look at the Old Spice guy! What a commercial - you've definitely heard of him. Every commercial gets more and more extreme.
Now, I've had a number of awesome moments in my life, from that grand slam in Little League baseball to going to my first Hokie Football game.
But I've never quite had a rush like this guy gets.
