Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You...

I was sitting at my desk in 5th grade when the World Trade Center towers in New York fell. I will never forget that day, I will never forget the wounds my country suffered, and I will never forget the name Osama bin Laden.

I sit at my desk now, nine and a half years later, as a junior in college. Osama bin Laden is now dead, and America lives on. The memories will always be there, but a measure of closure is now brought to the American people.

There are many who say that it is a shame that as a nation, we come together around death. To this I say: We are not celebrating death. We are celebrating a triumph over a symbolic terrorist threat.

And as my friend put it, "We do not gloat over the triumph over evil, because its very existence must forever be mourned."

Well done, America. The world is now a little bit safer.
